1

Sign in or create a SendGrid account

Use a work email account you can manage long term. Complete registration, email verification, and account security checks.

Step 1 illustration: Sign in or create a SendGrid account
2

Verify your sender identity

SendGrid may reject messages or restrict sender addresses until verification is complete.

Step 2 illustration: Verify a sender under Sender Authentication
Domain authentication tip: Copy the exact DNS host names and values generated for your domain by SendGrid. Do not use example records from the illustration.
3

Create a dedicated API key

This key is used as your SMTP password. Copy and store it securely when created; you usually cannot view the full key again later.

Step 3 illustration: Create an API key with Mail Send permission
Security:Never paste your API key into this page. If it is exposed, revoke it immediately under API Keys and create a replacement.
4

Enter the SMARTBOOTH SMTP settings

Enter the values below in your alert software’s SMTP settings. Field names may vary slightly by product version.

Step 4 illustration: Enter SendGrid SMTP settings in your alert software
SMTP server / hostsmtp.sendgrid.net
Port587(Recommended, STARTTLS)
Security / encryptionSTARTTLS or TLS (if available in your software)
Usernameapikey(fixed value; use lowercase)
PasswordThe full SendGrid API key you just created
Sender address / Mail FromThe sender address verified in Step 2
If your software offers SSL/TLS but not STARTTLS, use a security mode supported by that software version. Do not configure port 587 as implicit SSL. If the connection is blocked, ask your network administrator which SMTP port is available.
5

Send a test email and check the result

Send a test email from SMARTBOOTH, then check the inbox and SendGrid activity log.

Step 5 illustration: Send a test email and check activity
