Step-by-Step Elastic Email Setup
SMTP for Email Alerts
Create separate SMTP credentials, configure your SMARTBOOTH alert software, and send a test message. Dashboard labels and plan availability can vary by account; check the current Elastic Email dashboard for your account-specific options.
Sign in or create an Elastic Email account
Use an account email address you can access and manage. Complete registration and any verification or account review requests shown in the dashboard.
- Open Elastic Email and create an account or sign in.
- Confirm the account email address and complete the setup questions accurately.
- Review your current plan and sending limits in the account dashboard before using the relay.
Verify the sender address or domain
Set up a sender identity you control before sending production alerts.
- In the dashboard, open the sender verification or domain authentication area (the exact menu label may vary).
- For a single sender address, enter an address you can access and follow the verification email instructions.
- For production use, authenticate your sending domain if available. Add the exact DNS records Elastic Email provides to your domain's DNS and wait for verification.
- Use a verified sender address in the SMARTBOOTH From field.
Create dedicated SMTP credentials
Elastic Email SMTP credentials are separate from your account password and API keys. The SMTP password is displayed only when created, so save it securely.
- Open Settings → SMTP in the Elastic Email dashboard.
- Choose Create SMTP Credentials. Give the credential a recognizable name such as SMARTBOOTH SMTP.
- Keep the suggested SMTP username or enter a unique one if the dashboard allows it.
- Create the credential, then copy the generated SMTP password into a password manager. You cannot retrieve the full password after closing the creation dialog.
Enter the SMARTBOOTH SMTP settings
Use the SMTP username and password created in Step 3. Do not substitute your dashboard login password or an API key.

SMTP Server : smtp.elasticemail.com Port : 587 (STARTTLS) Username : [Your SMTP credential username] Password : [Your SMTP credential password] Mail From : [Your verified sender address]
Send a test email and check the result
Send a test from SMARTBOOTH to an inbox you can check, then review the dashboard activity or logs for the message status.
- Confirm the test arrives in the recipient inbox; check spam or quarantine if it does not.
- Review Elastic Email activity and delivery events for accepted, bounced, or blocked messages.
- For authentication errors, recheck the SMTP username and generated SMTP password, and ensure the credential is active.
- For sender errors, verify the From address and confirm sender verification is complete.
- For connection timeouts, confirm the host, port, encryption mode, and firewall access.
Setup complete: store and maintain the credential
Keep a separate credential for SMARTBOOTH so you can replace it without affecting other integrations.
